The topic of low self-esteem will be understood and better understood through a real-life story. In this example, through the story of one of my clients.
Once a girl who was 30 years old approached me. She had problems in her personal life and work, in some issues in communication with colleagues, family and friends. I didn't even believe that this was possible. She looked just a masterpiece: she had a beautiful body, was a very bright personality and knew how to speak beautifully.
But it was her self-esteem problems that prevented her from enjoying life. She was not just low for her - she was very underestimated. The girl felt like a defective person, a person with a defect. And when I began to tell and point out the essence of her problem, she was offended. But we were able to work through these problems and came to good results.
Unfortunately, a lot of people in our world have low self-esteem. And many of them will live their whole lives. But there are people who can go to a specialist and get help.
If you feel that something is going wrong in your life, you are unhappy with yourself, work or achievements in life - solve this problem. All problems associated with low self-esteem are solvable.
What is low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is like weak immunity. It makes you vulnerable to reality. Another low self-esteem is how you perceive yourself, how you feel about yourself and what you decide on.
Symptoms of low self-esteem
- You feel flawed;
- You are dependent on the opinions of the people around you;
- You often think that you are not living your life, but you cannot do something about it;
- You often compare yourself to other people;
- It seems to you that every choice you make is a flawed choice and it upsets you very much.
In my consultations, I often point out the reasons for low self-esteem. I always say that you need to understand and understand what is the basis of problems that affect both personal life and career growth.
Reasons for low self-esteem
- High expectations and excellent student syndrome in childhood… This is the level of expectation of parents, grandparents or teachers. But being the best is hard both physically and mentally. Such children lose their childlike spontaneity and the ability to rejoice at what is good in their life. They have problems communicating with their peers.
- Bullying and bullying. Especially when the child is in transitional age. It is very painful when you are a black sheep: you are accused of having long legs, small breasts or big eyes. As a rule, this leaves an imprint for the rest of his life.
- Loss of a loved one.
- Social isolation.
- Job loss or some kind of work-related problem.
How to improve your self-esteem
You must clearly understand such a thing that the mistakes you make are not the end of life. Vice versa, mistakes are good… They provide an opportunity to improve and become wiser. Made a mistake - think and analyze why this happened. Correct the mistakes.
You don't need to compare yourself with someone… Unfortunately, this problem comes from childhood. Each person is unique in himself.The only thing you can do is compare yourself to yourself yesterday.
You are afraid to do something - take it and do it! Go backwards. The main enemy in decision making is fear.: we are afraid to make incredible choices. It is enough to stop being afraid of failure - and "unsolvable difficulties" will turn into victories!
